All-wheel drive (AWD)
The Vauxhall Antara is equipped with an electronically controlled all-wheel drive train. In normal driving conditions the power is delivered to the front wheels. However in difficult or slippery conditions it will automatically engage the all-wheel drive, delivering the driving power 50:50 front to rear, for optimal traction.
Descent control system (DCS)
The Vauxhall Antara is fitted with an incline descent control system as standard. Activating the DCS maintains a constant descent speed which is preselected by the accelerator.
Electronic driving systemsThe Vauxhall Antara uses highly developed electronic driver-support systems to enhance active safety. It also offers:
- Cornering brake control (CBC), which improves stability when braking in curves by reducing brake pressure on the inner wheels.
- Hydraulic brake assistance (HBA), which automatically increases braking pressure when the driver steps heavily on the brake, progressively increasing the pressure to the maximum, thus dramatically reducing braking distance.
- The electronic stability programme (ESP®) fitted to the Vauxhall Antara includes standard traction control (TC) and descent control system (DCS).
